Our programs are designed to respond to the practical, social, emotional, and developmental needs of persons with disabilities and their families.

PROGRAM 1: ASSISTIVE DEVICES & MATERIAL SUPPORT

Helping People Live with Greater Independence

Access to appropriate assistive devices and basic necessities can make a significant difference in a person’s daily life.

Through this program, we support persons with disabilities with essential mobility assistance and material support based on their needs.

Our Support Includes

  • Provision of wheelchairs, crutches, and other mobility aids.
  • Distribution of clothing and basic necessities to vulnerable persons with disabilities.
  • Assessment of individual needs.
  • Referrals for specialized support services.
  • Connecting individuals with relevant service providers and support networks.

PROGRAM 2: SPORTS, RECREATION & TALENT DEVELOPMENT

Ability in Motion

Sports and recreation provide opportunities for physical activity, social connection, confidence, teamwork, and personal development.

Our program promotes participation in sports and recreational activities while identifying and supporting talent among persons with disabilities.

Our Activities Include

  • Sports training and coaching.
  • Participation in community sporting activities.
  • Participation in competitive sporting events.
  • Inclusive recreation activities.
  • Identification and development of sporting talent.
  • Team-building and social activities.

PROGRAM 3: COUNSELLING & PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT

Supporting Emotional Well-Being

Living with a disability can present emotional, social, and practical challenges for both individuals and their families.

KIDC works to strengthen support systems and connect persons with disabilities and caregivers with appropriate counselling and psychosocial services.

Our Support Includes

  • Referrals to qualified social workers and counselling professionals.
  • Individual counselling referrals and guidance.
  • Support for caregivers and family members.
  • Emotional and psychosocial support.
  • Creating safe spaces for people to share experiences and seek support.

PROGRAM 4: COMMUNITY AWARENESS & INCLUSION

Changing Attitudes. Building Understanding.

Inclusion begins with awareness and understanding.

We work with communities to promote positive attitudes towards persons with disabilities and advocate for their recognition as equal members of society.

Our Work Includes

  • Community awareness campaigns.
  • Disability rights education.
  • Public education on inclusion.
  • Awareness activities aimed at reducing stigma and discrimination.
  • Advocacy for dignity, equality, and equal opportunities.

PROGRAM 5: ACCESS TO SERVICES & OUTREACH

Reaching Communities That Need Support

Persons with disabilities, particularly those living in remote and underserved communities, may face challenges accessing essential services.

Our outreach work helps connect people with health, rehabilitation, educational, social, government, and other relevant services.

Our Support Includes

  • Transportation support where possible.
  • Outreach to rural and underserved communities.
  • Referrals to relevant service providers.
  • Linkages to government programs.
  • Support accessing health and rehabilitation services.
  • Support accessing education and social services.
